In order enhance the workforce; GEMS initiated the concept of Bible Women & Men. Through this intend to increase the following TWO important areas.
1. Increase in the Work Force for the ministry
2. Inculcate the habit of "giving" in the hearts of new north Indian Churches / Believers.
Who is Eligible?
if a person is a consistent baptized believer and is attending the local church regularly for at least 2 years and if he / she is willing to assist the local pastor or evangelist in the ministry of the Church / House Church / Preaching Point, then they can opt to be a bible men or women. The local pastor and the elders decide the selection of the person.
Training:
As they are interested, firstly they are constantly trained and mentored by the local pastor and for initiation, orientation and inspiration, they are brought to the GEMS training center and are given an intense training for 4 days.
Financial Assistance:
To begin with, 20% of the financial assistance will be from the local which will eventually become 100%. By doing this the local Church's desire and ability to support their own work is cultivated. As an initial subsidy GEMS is giving 80% of the intended support of Rs.800/-.
The Vision:
We would like to develop at least 1500 bible men and women within the year 2012.
Accountability:
They are totally coming under the covering of the local Church and are accountable totally to the local church. Their ministerial area also will be within the jurisdiction of the local church. After they finish the training in GEMS, the local church for their ministry dedicates them.
