Introduction:
GEMS Timothy Bible College was inaugurated on July 2001 to raise grass root level leaders. Right now we have completed three batches and trained 85 boys from various states of India and Nepal to serve in God’s vineyard. Most of them have been doing God’s work in different part of Bihar, Jharkhand, UP and Nepal. Now we have started the 4th batch recently. We are thankful for the foundation which helped us in putting up a beautiful building for this Bible College.
Mission Statement:
Our mission statement is based on Col. 1:28 “Warning every man and teaching everyman in all wisdom, that we may present everyman in perfect in Christ Jesus."
Vision:
Based on Acts 19:9,10we want to preach the gospel to entire India through our training program. We are committed to raise 50 grass root leaders every year i.e. at least one in ten villages so that they may lead the people to Christ and become a role model to them. Need: India is a multi-cultural, multi-religious and multi-linguistic country. Bihar is also like mini India with many culture and language. Therefore, the lay people can more effectively evangelize than the cross cultural missionaries because they can easily overcome the language and cultural barrier. It is also the part of GEMS vision to reach the people and train them to reach others. So Bihar deliberately needs training institute to train grass root people as Church planters. Secondly, the most of the Bible colleges in India are situated in South India. There are few Bible Colleges in North India too. But most of them offer courses in English only. So there is a need for Bible colleges one can offer courses in Hindi so that people from very backward states like Bihar, MP, UP and Jharkhand etc. Where there are plenty of Hindi speaking people may be able to learn in their own language. Nature of Training: We offer one year Diploma in Leadership Training and Indian Institute of Missiology accredicts it. The curriculum has been set in such a way that there may be more emphasis on character building and mission. We are offering this course with free of cost because most of the boys usually get enrolled in our college are from poor Hindu family and first converts so they lack family support and they are unable to afford the course fee and other expenses. So we need people to join hand with us to successfully run this program
